About Andrew Vey
Born in Ottawa and raised on the East Coast, Andrew is a founding partner of Vey Willetts LLP. From the start of his legal career, Andrew has focused exclusively on workplace law. His style of practice emphasizes finding collaborative solutions where possible combined with tenacious advocacy where necessary. Andrew formerly worked with two Toronto-based labour and employment boutiques before returning to Ottawa to start his own firm.
Andrew has served a broad range of clients in the past, including large retailers, municipal police services and individual employees. He has also acted as counsel in a variety of settings, ranging from the Ontario Court of Justice to the York University Disciplinary Tribunal.
For both employees and small to medium-sized employers, Andrew provides counsel and legal representation. Andrew's practice spans a broad range of workplace related issues, such as: wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, just cause terminations, innocent absenteeism, frustration of contract, termination/severance packages, harassment, discrimination, accommodation, disability and employment standards. Additionally, Andrew regularly drafts and reviews employment agreements, workplace policies and releases.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science from Carleton University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the County of Carleton Law Association.
