About Jelena Novikov Fried
Jelena Novikov Fried is a business lawyer specializing in corporate finance, securities and general corporate law. She has extensive experience in private M&A transactions, private placement financings and lending transactions, as well as in general corporate law, including business formation, compliance and contractual matters.
Her recent experience includes working on flow-through shares offerings, share and asset purchase transactions, convertible note offerings, share subscriptions, loan transactions, shareholders agreements, employment and independent contractor agreements and stock option plans.
Jelena has practised business law in Toronto for nearly a decade, and is called to the Bar in Ontario and Alberta. She previously practised corporate finance, securities and corporate law at Bennett Jones LLP and Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, and as an in-house counsel at the Canadian Bankers Association. Jelena obtained her law degree from the UBC Faculty of Law.
